Hi, Because all anyone ever wants are the good restaurants, you know? There's nothing more frustrating than being in a part of town and not having a few good ideas of where to eat. And there's also no reason not to know where that restaurant every blog's been creaming over (for the last month) is... or the place the Times gave an out-of-nowhere two stars. We don't pay to play, only share what we like, and will bring you new every week because we care (and really like sharing).
FoodTyrant is the product of a few hungry minds with discerning taste who were tired of how kinda-useless most restaurant locating sites have become.
We realized we just wanted to find neighborhood gems we didn't know about, or remeber those restaurants we keep "star-ing" in our RSS readers (and never remember to look up again).
So, we've build this site to share what we think are old, new and in-between places worth visitng in each neighborhood (Manhatan for now).
And just so you know, we have 20 & 30-something tastes, wallets, and read a lot of blogs... which means we like everything good we can afford, but always care about good, new, and things like "vibes."
